The Carry-On Edit: Everything I Pack for a Week Away

One bag, seven days, zero stress — the capsule wardrobe and beauty kit I rely on for every trip.

< 1 min read

After years of overpacking, I travel with one carry-on for almost everything. The secret is not owning less; it is choosing pieces that work together.

The capsule wardrobe

Pick a palette of three neutrals and one accent colour, and every piece will match every other. My week-long formula:

  • 2 pairs of trousers (one tailored, one relaxed)
  • 1 midi dress or skirt that dresses up or down
  • 4 tops, including one silk shirt
  • 1 light knit and 1 structured jacket
  • 2 pairs of shoes: comfortable sneakers and one elegant pair

The secret is not owning less; it is choosing pieces that work together.

The beauty kit

Decant everything into travel-size bottles, and choose multi-taskers: a tinted SPF, a cream blush that works on lips and cheeks, a balm for dry patches and hands, and a hydrating mist for flights.

The in-flight bag

Keep a small pouch within reach: lip balm, eye drops, a sheet mask for long flights, a scarf that doubles as a blanket, and a refillable water bottle.

Roll soft pieces, fold structured ones, and fill your shoes with socks and chargers. Packing cubes change everything.
